The sheath is nice and it makes a great display knife, I just didn't feel like the knife itself was better than any of the much cheaper options on BudK. I wasn't disappointed enough to return it, it's not a bad knife, I was just disappointed in the fit and finish for the price compared to the Timber Rattlers. Thus it's not going to get too sharp, but then I probably won't break it either.
I don't see any markings on it or the paperwork as to what type of steel it is, though I have seen it advertised elsewhere as 440 stainless. Though I liked the look of the grip/pommel design, I was disappointed to find out how small the space between the front of the pommel and the butt is because my fingers (admittedly large) were squeezed too tight between them when gripping the blade. The pommel, hilt, butt and blade did not line up very well, there are small overlaps around each piece. It's not a bad knife, it's just more average than I expected compared to the much cheaper Timber Rattler bowies.
Of all my BudK purchases, this knife had to have been the biggest letdown to me.
